Ovulation means that an egg is released from an ovary in a woman's body. This process usually occurs in the middle of the menstrual cycle. How to use an ovulation test

Most women's menstrual cycles last 28 days, so ovulation is expected around the middle of the cycle, on day 14. This means that the egg is ready for fertilization, and the fertile period has begun. During this period, within 24–36 hours of testing, the chance of the egg being fertilized is highest. 

If you get a positive result, it is advisable to plan intercourse either for the evening of the day you tested or, at the latest, for the following morning, to maximize the chance of conception.

Additional testing: A sudden increase in LH levels indicates that ovulation is approaching. At this point, it is worth testing several times a day so that you do not miss the moment of ovulation.
 

Should you choose a digital or traditional ovulation test? 

The result will be reliable in either case, so neither option is better from this perspective. 

If simplicity and convenience are important to you and you are willing to pay more for more accurate results, a digital test may be the better choice for you. However, if you are looking for a more budget-friendly solution and do not mind interpreting the tests, traditional tests may also be suitable.

  • Easy to use: Digital tests are generally easier to use because they display the result on a screen, such as “ovulation” or “no ovulation.” 
  • More accurate interpretation: Digital tests are harder to misinterpret, so they provide a clear answer.
