We’ve told you about so many things here over the past year, but we haven’t yet shared who we are, where ADAMO came from, or how it began. Did you know, for example, who we named the brand after? How long have swings like ours existed? Have you heard about our latest plans? If not, read on!
Everyone loves swinging…
The person who dreamed up ADAMO does not consider himself an inventor - although he would certainly deserve the title, he does not particularly like being called that. His name is Ádám Németh, and he wanted to make a comfortable, safe swing for his little boy. He also named the brand after him, as his son is Ádám too.
By his own admission, he had no idea at first what he had created. After a while, however, word spread about the swing when people saw the prototype at their home. Very soon, there was demand for this useful yet entertaining product to be made available to as many families as possible. From then on, they began looking at the swing differently, and testing and production began. At first, they sold it only within their circle of acquaintances, making swings for friends, and later for friends of friends - as time went on, more and more people contacted them because they wanted a cradle swing for their baby.
Similar swings were already being used in the early 1800s, and later fathers also made them by hand for their children to enjoy, while poorer families used them as substitutes for cradles. The ADAMO swing is a further-developed and modernized version of these.
After a while, positive feedback began arriving one after another. Several professionals pointed out to families using the swing that, thanks to the product’s design and multidirectional movement, it is highly effective at developing babies’ hand-eye coordination and sense of balance. This information led to the development of the swing’s shape with the help of professionals and parents.
Ádám and his wife founded the company in 2005, and according to their unanimous opinion, every minute they spend working is a genuinely rewarding experience. They enjoy the creative, inspiring environment, continuous renewal, and the abundance of positive feedback - and, last but not least, the fact that the swing has provided real help to many children who need developmental support. Thanks to its great success, the company has now grown into a successful, internationally recognized business.
They are extremely proud that the name Adamo has become a brand, and that the swings are now known, sought after, and used not only in Hungary but all over the world!
